'Sprayground' opens at Hurricane City Park

By Staff reports

HURRICANE, W.Va. -- They call it a "sprayground" and it just opened for 2013 at Hurricane City Park, a short distance across W.Va. 34 from Waves of Fun at Valley Park.

The 2000-square-foot facility features nine fixtures that spray water on a concrete pad, but not in a pool setting, so little standing water remains.

The sprayground is designed for children 14 and under. The project cost approximately $200,000 and was funded almost entirely by donations.
