Cass dinner train
CASS, W.Va. -- The next dinner train on the Cass Scenic Railroad is June 22 and will feature Matt Jennigan, a guitar-playing comedian and impressionist who captures the sound of such entertainers as Britney Spears and Elvis Presley.
The evening includes a round trip from Cass to Whittaker Station and back, buffet dinner prepared by the Last Run Restaurant, and guest entertainment at Whittaker Station. Dinner trains depart from the Cass Depot at 5:15 p.m. Prices are $36 for adults, $26 for youths ages 5-12 and $16 for children ages 5 and younger. Reservations are required. Other dinner trains run July 13 with Once Blue; July 27 and Aug. featuring 10 Wolf Creek Band; and Aug. 24 with Juanita Fireball and the Continental Drifters.
The dinner trains are in addition to the other 360 train trips scheduled at Cass Scenic Railroad in 2013. Cass Scenic Railroad makes daily trips up Cheat Mountain with trips to Whittaker Station and a noon run to Bald Knob. The schedule is posted at www.cassrailroad.com.
The 50th anniversary run of the No. 4 locomotive will leave Whittaker Station at 10:30 a.m. June 15. Call 304-456-4300 for reservations. There are 240 tickets available and they will be sold in advance.
W.Va. Day in Beckley
BECKLEY, W.Va. -- The Exhibition Coal Mine and the Youth Museum will celebrate West Virginia's 150th birthday by hosting a birthday party from noon to 4 p.m. June 20. Music will be provided by musician and storyteller Jimmy Costa. Cake and punch also will be served.
The Wildwood House Museum will host a West Virginia Humanities Council "History Alive" with JoAnn Peterson portraying Mary Todd Lincoln at 2:30 p.m. June 23. The program is free, but donations will be accepted.

Badlands Bluegrass Fest
