W.Va.'s best ice cream treat

Morgantown's Café Bacchus and its chef, Heath Finnell, have been recognized by Food Network Magazine for concocting one the nation's best ice cream desserts. The magazine's story -- "50 States 50 Ice Cream Treats" -- chose Finnell's Apple Butter Ice Cream as West Virginia's best.Old Time Bean Stringin' this weekend

The fourth annual Old Time Bean Stringin' at Capitol Market takes place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 20 under the center court roof with live music. The green beans prepared at this event go directly to the Manna Meal Soup Kitchen, where an afternoon crew will blanch and freeze them for the winter months ahead. All food donated at this event goes directly to feed the hungry through the Manna Meal Soup Kitchen at St John's Episcopal Church at the corner of Quarrier Street and Leon Sullivan Way. For more on the market, visit www.capitolmarket.net.
