Stonewall car show
WESTON, W.Va. -- Stonewall Resort will offer an afternoon and evening of cars, music and food Aug. 3 at the lakeside resort state park in Lewis County.
The Summer Knights Cruzin Association car show begins at 3 p.m. and will feature all types of cars, including antiques, classics, street rods and street machines.
At 7 p.m., The Soul Miners, recently voted the best band in Morgantown, will perform on the Roanoke Activity Plaza Lawn. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs. Barbecue and other food items will be available for purchase at the event.
The car show and concert are free. There is a $5 per car admission fee to enter the park after 3 p.m. Aug. 3.

Cabin policy changes
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Now through Labor Day weekend, the West Virginia state parks system is reducing the minimum advance cabin reservation requirements from a week to a two-night minimum stay at all parks with cabins.
While many parks' cabins are completely booked, several areas have weekend and midweek openings in August.
Parks and forests participating in the "Times Change" cabin rental night program include: Babcock, Beech Fork, Blackwater Falls, Bluestone, Cabwaylingo State Forest, Cacapon Resort, Cass Scenic Railroad State Park, Greenbrier State Forest, Lost River, North Bend, Pipestem Resort, Seneca State Forest, Twin Falls Resort, Tygart Lake and Watoga.
The park system always offers a midweek cabin discount in September at several areas. Also, several parks offer an "Awesome August" cabin rate option to encourage late-summer travel.

Blenko Festival of Glass
MILTON, W.Va. -- Blenko Glass is holding its annual Festival of Glass from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 2 and 3 at its visitor center, 9 Bill Blenko Drive, Milton.
Customers who attend the festival will receive a free commemorative medallion, while supplies last.
A variety of classes will be held, including a glassblowing workshop, make-your-own glass vase or candy dish, paperweight, ornament, cast animal and water bottle classes. Families can take part in classes in glass jewelry, chimes, nightlights, garden stone, dalle mosaic and dalle chipping and glass painting that the whole family to take part in.
On Aug. 3, company President Walter Blenko Jr. and Vice President Andy Blenko will sign limited-edition pieces for sale, which include a classic fade vase, yellow swirl pitcher and cobalt swirl ruffle bowl. There is a limit of one piece of each style per person.
Glassblowing demonstrations will take place from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. both days, and guided factory tours will be given at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. both days.
