Art at Jackson's Mill
WESTON, W.Va. -- A three-day juried event to showcase season art created by exceptional artists will take place Oct. 18-20 with an opening reception from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 17 in the Assembly Hall at Jackson's Mill, near Weston.
Entries must be received no later than Sept. 1. For more information, contact Steve Cassle or Karen Lilly at theartofhallows...@gmail.com. A nonrefundable $20 application fee must accompany all applications along with three photographs of the artist's work on CD or by email.
During the event, Jackson's Mill will be holding additional Halloween-related activities -- hayrides, campfire storytelling, pumpkin painting, zombie walks, lantern ghost tours and a dinner -- to promote a memorable experience for visitors.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Crafters have until Aug. 30 to submit a photo of their recycling and/or remodeling project that contains materials from the Habitat for Humanity ReStore of Charleston, 301 Piedmont Road. All participants will receive a $10 ReStore gift certificate.
Submit one or more photos; photos must not have been previously submitted. Email photos to ...@hfhkp.org or tag the Habitat Restore in your photo on Facebook. Photo prints will not be accepted. Please include a brief description of the materials used.
The ReStore marketing committee will choose one grand-prize winner for most creative "ReDesign." The winner will win a two-minute shopping spree in the ReStore. The winner can have whatever they can grab but must agree to let the ReStore videotape the adventure for their YouTube channel. The runner-up will receive a $50 gift certificate.
