HINTON -- Railroad Days Festival will be celebrated here on Oct. 19, 20, 26 and 27.
This two-weekend event is held in conjunction with the New River Train Fall Foliage Excursions. Visitors may visit the Railroad Museum with a selection of antiques and railroad memorabilia, view model train displays and model train vendors, the John Henry exhibits and the Dodd farm display or take a carriage ride through Hinton Historic District.
The streets will be filled with vendors selling crafts ranging from rings made from coins to quilts. Live music will be played in the town square. Food vendors will offer a variety of food including barbecues, kielbasa sandwiches, gyros, kettle corn, crab cake sandwiches, and funnel cakes.

Festival in Union
SALT SULPHUR SPRINGS -- New Language Art will host its second wine, beer, food and art festival from noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Old Sulphur Springs Resort, Union.
The festival is a benefit for artists in Monroe, Greenbrier, Summers and Mercer counties and in Giles County, Va.
Throughout the day, Watts Roost Vineyard, Lewisburg, VU JA DE, Spencer, and American Brewing, Meadow Bluff, will provide tastings and sale of beer and wine. Local eateries will offer food for sale. Music will be provided by The Carpenter Ants, Doc Greenberg's Patient Jazz Band, Little Sparrow and Option 22.

Quilters' getaway weekend
CAIRO -- A quilters getaway weekend is planned for Oct. 24-27 at North Bend State Park in Ritchie County.

CEREDO -- The Ceredo-Kenova Autumn Festival takes place Oct 25-26 in the two Wayne County communites.
The centerpiece of the festival is the Pumpkin House, which has become one of the favorite tourist attractions of West Virginia. Viewing the Pumpkin House begins on Oct. 25 and runs through Halloween.
Additional activities include crafts, food vendors, a haunted trail, old-fashioned bake-off, scavenger hunt, cruise-in, inflatables, petting zoo, face painting, crafts and fresh baked pumpkin bread.

W.Va. Turkey Festival
MATHIAS -- The West Virginia Turkey Festival will be held Oct. 25-26 in Mathias.
The event, which has promoted the state turkey industry since 1955, features a turkey and ham dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 25, and on Oct.26, a shooting match, arts and crafts, car show and food vendors.
