4-H and Community Day
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Kanawha County 4-H Teen Leaders has been selected as a donation recipient for Elder-Beerman's Community Day.
For the group to receive funding, donors must go onto the Elder-Beerman Community Day Event website and purchase a Community Day booklet for $5. All $5 will go back to the 4-H Teen Leaders Association to assist them and other 4-H'ers in Kanawha County to go to Washington, D.C., during spring break for a four-day educational trip.

Hospital director to speak
SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Lora Edgell, director of the WVU Children's Hospital in Morgantown, will speak at 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Woman's Club of South Charleston, 214 D St.
The club invites the public, especially family and former patients, to meet Edgell. Guests are asked to bring an item of pajamas, underwear, socks, onesies, new stuffed toy or game for older children. Bringing an article qualifies for a chance at a door prize.
South Charleston Woman's Club has supported the nationally accredited hospital for the past two years in the Rays of Hope Project of GFWC WV Capitol District with gifts of clothing, toys and monetary contributions and through sale of the Cards of Hope that support the Cure For Kids Cancer Fund.
SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- On Nov. 24 and Dec. 1, Price Portraits, 201 D St., South Charleston, will offer free portrait packages to children with autism and any special need.
