Men's shelter needs
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Crossroads Men's Shelter in Charleston needs the following items:
Pancake mix and syrup, milk, eggs, butter or margarine, large containers of peanut butter, large jars of jelly, lunch meat of any kind and large bottles of shampoo.
Items may be brought to Crossroads Men's Shelter between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily at 503 Leon Sullivan Way.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Mountaineer Montessori School will hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at Temple Israel, 2312 Kanawha Blvd. E.
Proceeds will benefit the school's "Lighting the Way for Education" campaign, which supports scholarship assistance and specialty programs.
Vegetarian, gluten-free and meat options will be available. The meal includes entrée, salad, dessert and beverage and can be enjoyed onsite or as a carry-out.
Guests are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items, which will be donated to Manna Meal as part of a food drive organized by Mountaineer Montessori students. Items of particular need are dried and canned milk, canned soups, canned meats, pasta sauce with meat and dried pasta noodles. Canned goods should have pull-top lids.

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. -- Decorators and designers have created themed table settings that will be sold at TableScapes 2013, a live auction at 7 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Parkersburg Art Center, Eighth and Market streets. The event is a fundraiser for the art center's educational programs for young people.
The tablescapes include those for holidays, children's parties and outdoor gatherings. Highest bidders win everything on the table -- linens, plates, flatware, glassware, centerpiece and all décor items.
Tickets cost $10 each and automatically enter the ticket holder in a raffle for a tablescape worth $5,000. Additional raffle tickets may be purchased. The drawing will take place during the event. It is not necessary to be present to win.
