PETERSBURG, W.Va. -- The Snowflake Express leaves the South Side Depot at 6, 7:30 and 9 p.m. Dec. 13 and 14 for a train ride with Santa to the Festival of Lights at Welton Park. Hot cocoa and cookies will be served and Christmas carols sung on the ride.
Tickets cost $10 for children 2 to 12 years of age, $12 for adults (12 years and older).
Children also may join Santa for a continental breakfast at 9 a.m. Dec. 14 and a train ride through the Grant County countryside, listening to a reading of "Holiday Magic on the Farm," written by West Virginia authors Marla Pisciotta, Jim King and Don Kesner. All children will receive a special gift from Santa.
Tickets cost $20. There's no charge for children age 2 and younger.
Opera House play
MARLINTON, W.Va. -- The Greenbrier Valley Theatre will present "It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" at 2 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Pocahontas County Opera House.
Tickets cost $8; free for children 17 and younger.
