Princeton New Year's Eve
PRINCETON, W.Va. -- Princeton will hold its first "Downtown Countdown" on Mercer Street from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Dec. 31. The New Year's Eve celebration will include a ball drop, sparkling cider toast and fireworks at midnight, four stages of music, street performers and more.
Performers include rock group JC/BC with guest vocalist Melissa McKinney, Patient Jazz, DJ Dough-T, Tim and Maggie Mainland and performance artist Chally Erb. The street will be closed to automotive traffic.
Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for students and free for children 10 and under. Purchase tickets at the gate.

Morgantown New Year's Eve bash
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- The Buckin' New Year's Eve Bash takes place from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. Dec. 31 at Big Whiskey Saloon and Dancehall, 341 Chestnut St., Morgantown. It features country music from DJ LOGO and a mechanical bull.
General admission is $10, which includes entrance to the event and a whiskey salute at midnight. For $50, you also receive a prime rib buffet and party favors.
Some overnight packages at the Chestnut Hotel may still remain. These include preferred access to the bash as well as a late checkout and complimentary breakfast on New Year's Day.

Stonewall Resort New Year's Eve dinner
ROANOKE, W.Va. -- Stillwaters at Stonewall Resort will offer a New Year's Eve dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. Dec. 31. The menu includes crab-crusted Atlantic salmon, hickory-smoked pork tenderloin with a molasses and black pepper glaze and baked three-cheese manicotti.
