At 5:45 p.m. every Monday, an alcohol-free jewelry design class is offered with soft drinks, bottled water and snacks. "Design & Wine" will begin at 5:45 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. At 2 p.m. on Saturdays, beaded jewelry classes are offered for children and adults. Saturday classes can be incorporated into birthday parties.
Classes cost $45 per adult and $35 per child. Participants using their own supplies can attend for $25 per session.
To register for the classes, call Young at 304-437-1069. Proceeds from the classes help animal rescue efforts. Participants are encouraged to bring donations of dog and cat food and cat litter to assist rescue animals.

Gallery staff honored
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Renaissance Art Gallery director Fern Christian was honored with Tri-State Artists Association's Community Service award at their 2013 Christmas dinner. Kathy Hollet also was honored. Both have served on the TSAA board of directors, served as president, and have spent thousands of hours on committees to support TSAA's mission and its membership.
They are the first recipients of the association's community service award. Recipients of the award must have a minimum of 10 years of uninterrupted membership and community service in the association to be eligible for the award.
Christian is the founder and director of the Renaissance Art Gallery, an artist-cooperative gallery, where she teaches painting on Monday mornings. Hollet has mentored new members, taught art classes, and wrote grants for the TSAA.
