Target muscle: Heart

MODES:

Cardio machines: treadmill, elliptical, arc trainer, rower

Pool: aquatic class, swim, scuba, water walk

Group fitness: step, freestyle, boot camp, kick box, power yoga, interval training

Dance: tap, Zumba, Dance Dance Revolution interactive game, ballroom, Zydeco, belly dancing, hip-hop, disco, clogging, square dancing

Outdoor: walk, cycle, jog, hike, mountain bike

Sports: any sport you enjoy

How will this help me?

Expect to have more energy if you are training your heart and lungs. Your weight will be easier to control, and you will be increasing bone density. Your risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, high blood pressure, depression and cancer will decrease.

Find these fitness terms at www.cindysays.com and at www.ymcawv.org: Aerobic, anaerobic, intervals, target heart rate zone, maximum heart rate, resting heart rate, perceived exertion scale, cardio, aerobic threshold.
