CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A blaze of red, orange, gold and blue burned bright backstage and on the runway at the Symphony League Fashion Show at Smith Company Motor Cars on Thursday night.
Powerful and strong women from the Mountain State, who are on fire in their communities and help make our state a wonderful -- and beautiful -- place, were on FIRE on the runway to showcase fashions from West Virginia retailers.
The gorgeous Bridgette Borst was mistress of ceremonies for the event and started and finished the event with glamour and grace. Scenes showcased floral prints, contrasting patterns, textures and colors. House of Luxe provided beautiful furs for a witty "Real Housewives of Charleston" scene.
A highlight of the show was Penny Fioravante's amazing designs with feathers, head dresses, and surprising cut outs and deep necklines. Penny wasn't the only designer in the house. Dressmaker's Closet had the crowd-pleasing "best dressed" outfit winner and the WV Style Team's own Dennise Smith had amazing retro pieces in the show.
Not only does this event raise funds for the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, but it's something that brings trends from around the world to Charleston. It also brings people from all different industries, backgrounds, and areas of the state together to showcase the beauty and talent in our state.
The event organizers, retailers, sponsors, event volunteers and models work for months to pull this beautiful event together. The hair and makeup artists pull out all the stops to glam up the models.
Now that this year's event is a wrap, my curiosity is already piqued for what the West Virginia Symphony League will feature next year.
