Spaghetti dinner benefit

Minerva Center for Academic Success is sponsoring a Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 12 at St. Anthony Church Parish Center. The dinner will be prepared by Chef Tony Henderson of Quarrier Diner. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children under 6. Proceeds benefit Minerva Center for Academic Success, a non-traditional middle and high school in Charleston.

Tickets will be sold at St. Anthony Church Parish Center, 1000 Sixth St. at the door, or in advance by calling Judie Smith at 304-389-8025 or Bradley Marple at 304-610-4388.

Food pantry needs

The Covenant House Food Pantry is in need of small jars of peanut butter and boxes of cereal. Enter through the back entrance to First Presbyterian Church, on the corner of Leon Sullivan Way and Virginia Street E., to drop off items.

Cooking classes

April Hamilton is offering a hands-on cooking class in which she will cover baking, healthy meals, global flavors and locally sourced ingredients. The classes will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 6, 13, 21 and 27 at Ferguson Enterprises, 160 Spring St. Early registration (before Dec. 25) cost for the series is $295.
