Wines of the Pacific Northwest
The Wine Shop at Capitol Market will focus on wines of the Pacific Northwest at 6:30 p.m. July 17 at the Wine Shop.
Boo Walker of Hedges Family Estate will talk about Hedges and the wines of Washington state. Ted Armbrecht, from the shop, will focus on some favorites from Oregon.
Richard Arbaugh of South Hills Market & Café has designed a menu to highlight the 13 wine selections. And guests will be entertained by the music of Duo Divertido.

Local food expo in Huntington
The Huntington Local Foods Expo will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. July 23 at the Big Sandy Conference Center in Huntington.
The event is designed to bring together local food producers and food buyers, and is presented by the West Virginia Food and Farm Coalition and Huntington 30 Mile Meal.
The event will provide regional food growers, producers and processors with an opportunity to connect with buyers from restaurants, grocery stores, schools, institutions and other food venues. Its purpose is to help foster long-term sales relationships between buyers and farmers.
Bean stringin' for Manna Meal
For the fourth year, volunteers for Manna Meal will buy and string green beans from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 20 at Capitol Market.
Volunteers are asked to buy a pound of green beans to string while listening to music at the Market and then donate the beans to the soup kitchen.
Another volunteer crew blanches and then freezes the green beans to serve during the winter.
