1/4 cup Sambal Olek *
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 bunch green onions, chopped
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons minced fresh garlic
2 tablespoons fresh minced ginger
1 1/2 to 2 pounds Steak of choice for grilling
COMBINE all ingredients but the steak for marinade; stir thoroughly to dissolve sugar; reserve 1/4 to 1/2 cup for glazing steak after grilling.
MARINATE steak in the teriyaki mixture for at least one day and up to three days. WIPE excess marinade from steaks when ready to grill so sugar doesn't burn. COOK steaks only to medium doneness for best results.
SLICE steak thinly against the grain and brush or drizzle with reserved marinade.
