The 15th annual Ribfest runs Sept. 5-8, across from Dow Chemical in South Charleston. It will feature a number of award-winning barbecue rib vendors from around the country as well as barbecue chicken, sauces and a variety of other foods and beverages.
Activities include live concerts (among them Wyatt Turner and Charlie Brown's Coasters), a carnival, face painting, and eating competitions. You can also see the world's tallest pinball machine.
Hours are 4 to 10:30 p.m. Sept. 5, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 11 p.m. Sept. 6, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sept. 7 and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 8.
Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for children ages 6-12 (includes a free carnival ride) and free for ages 5 and under. This does not include food. Friday lunch hours are free admission, and there will be lunch specials and to-go orders.

Style Show and Luncheon
The Woman's Club of Charleston will feature a Style Show and Luncheon at noon Sept. 11th at the clubhouse at 1600 Virginia Street E. The show is a fundraiser for two programs the Club has supported for many years, Camp Kno-Koma and Garnet Career Center Nursing Scholarship Program.
A light lunch will be served at noon. The Style Show features Club members as models, wearing clothes from Ivor's Trunk and Talbot's (Charleston Town Center). Day, evening, casual and cruise wear will be featured.
