Empty Bowl fundraiser
Manna Meals is holding its first Empty Bowl fundraiser from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at St. John's Episcopal Church, 1105 Quarrier St.
For $25, guests select a handmade ceramic bowl made by Taylor Book Store Pottery and Capitol Clay Arts Co., and fill it with soup.
Diners have four choices: Yugoslavian fish stew from Joe's Fish Market, provided by David and Sandy Campbell; chili from Joe Noronha and Margaret Graney, tomato basil from Leslie Frame and matzo ball provided by Barbie Sadolf.
Corey Brothers is providing salad, and the bread is from Libby Chatfield of Charleston Bread. Music will be by Beau McCray.
Empty Bowls is in memory of Ruth Barton, who was a long-time board member of Manna Meals.
