For families of addicts

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Loved Ones is a support group for families and friends who have a loved one struggling with an addiction.

The seven-week series began Aug. 30, but people can attend at any time during the series. Sessions run consecutively.

The free hour session begins at 6 p.m. every Thursday at the Haddad Building, 4825 MacCorkle Ave., South Charleston. Parking is free.

The series focuses on educating the loved one to identify an alcohol or drug addiction and to develop effective approaches to help the addicted deal with their problem.

No enrollment or personal information is taken at the confidential sessions.

Huntington's disease support

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Huntington's disease support group will meet from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 8 at Saint Francis Hospital.
