Arts show food donations
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Visitors to the Capital City Arts & Crafts show Nov. 18 are encouraged to bring nonperishable food products for donation.
Sponsored by the Kanawha City Lions Club, the event attracts thousands of visitors and benefits state and local charities, as well as providing more than $100,000 in eyeglasses for area residents. Hours are noon to 6 p.m. Nov. 18. Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for children under 12.
Fayette store food drive
FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. -- maurices, at Fayette Town Center, 104 Town Center Road, is holding a food drive to benefit Hand in Hand Mission.
Customers can drop off nonperishable food donations from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Nov. 30.
For each donation, people will receive a coupon for 20 percent off any one regular-priced maurices item. maurices sells women's clothing and accessories.
Holiday music for Hospice
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Hubbard Hospice House and Hubbard House West are seeking groups of holiday/Christmas carolers and musicians to help lift the spirits of patients, families and staff around the holidays.
HospiceCare has an annual tradition of welcoming groups to the house around the holidays, and would love to open it up even more. Musicians and singers are welcome to contact Chuck Young, HospiceCare's volunteer music coordinator at 304-415-3955 or by email at cnyou...@suddenlink.net.
The deadline for submissions to Help Out is noon Wednesday for the following Sunday.
