Pets' stockings

HURRICANE, W.Va. -- New Hope Animal Rescue is selling Christmas stockings stuffed with treats and toys for dogs and cats.

The $20 stockings will contain a dozen preservative-free, homemade dog biscuits that can be purchased separately for $5 a dozen.

Orders will be taken through Dec. 15 by calling New Hope Animal Rescue at 304-562-0300. Stockings will be available for pickup from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 20 and 22 at New Hope's thrift store, Paws and Shop, 2806 Putnam Ave., Hurricane.

All proceeds benefit New Hope Animal Rescue's spay/neuter and medical programs and its fund to build a no-kill shelter in the Putnam/Kanawha County area.

Huntington's support group

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Huntington's disease support group meets on the second Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Saint Francis Hospital. The next meeting is Dec. 8.
