Fashion show honored
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Symphony League's annual fashion show has been recognized as one of the premier events presented by volunteer associations of symphony orchestras throughout the United States and in Canada.
Only nine projects nationwide will receive the Gold Book Award of Excellence from the National League of Orchestras Volunteer Council at its national convention June 17-19 in St. Louis.
The awards salute the most successful and innovative projects and events presented the previous year to support local orchestras. The League's "Let the Good Times Roll" show, held in March 2012, was recognized for rethinking an established event to reach new audiences; developing new donor and sponsor sources; integrating social and viral marketing into event promotion activities; and promoting diversity and inclusion within the community. Crystal Good, Ann Urling and JoEllen Zacks were co-chairwomen of the event.
