HACKER VALLEY, W.Va. -- A state park hit hard by superstorm Sandy is opening a temporary office and officials plan to reopen the park next spring.
Holly River State Park staff members will resume taking reservations and answering patrons' questions on Dec. 3.
The Division of Natural Resources says the main part of the park in Hacker Valley still doesn't have electricity.
Sandy dumped more than 2 feet of snow on the park in five hours on Oct. 29. By Nov. 1, the park had more than 3 feet of snow.
The wet, heavy snow felled about 95 percent of the park's electric lines. Downed trees and limbs broke more than a dozen power poles and smashed two transformers.
The DNR says cleanup continues at other state parks damaged by Sandy.
