Hellenic Night

St John's Greek Orthodox Church presents Hellenic Night at 6 p.m. Saturday  at St. George Orthodox Cathedral. The event celebrating Greek culture includes cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, dinner and dancing. Music provided by Lazaros and Neos Ehos.

Tickets are $130 and may be purchased by calling 304-855-6916. Limited tickets will be available at the door. St. George Orthodox Cathedral is at the corner of Court and Lee streets.

Arts through eating

The second Square Meal dining event that benefits local arts programs will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 7 at Taylor Books, 226 Capitol St. Tickets are $16, $10 of which goes to a grant for an artist or arts program selected by diners who hear brief proposals from candidates.

Organized through The Arts Council of Kanawha Valley, the first Square Meal event netted $540 for Charleston Cinematheque to show classic, contemporary, independent and culturally and historically significant films free to the public. Seeking southern recipes

House-Autry Mills seeks southern cooking recipes for a cookbook celebrating the 200th anniversary of the food products company. Deadline for submission is Nov. 1. The recipe must include at least one House-Autry Mills products.
