Highland Hospital Foundation will have its Third Annual Game Show Mania "Fun Raiser" at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Embassy Suites hotel. The theme is "All Trivia," and the host is Sandy Sowell. Family and corporate teams are still being accepted. Proceeds will benefit Highland Hospital Indigent Fund, which helps patients in need of medications, inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment and transportation. Tickets are $75 or two tickets for $100. A team of four is $250. Tables of 10 are still available for $750.
St. Christopher Episcopal Church will sponsor its 16th annual Dog Wash and Pet Blessing from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the church yard, 821 Somerset Drive, West Side. Dogs will be washed with flea shampoo, towel- or blow-dried and brushed. Upon request the Revs. Jim Lewis and Denise Giardina will say a blessing for the pet. Cats and other critters are welcome for the blessing. The dog wash is free; however donations will be appreciated. Proceeds will benefit local charities, such as Manna Meal and Christ's Kitchen. Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a hike to Pike Creek-Collins Branch areas at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. The hike is approximately 3.5 miles and is hilly with two views of Interstate 64 at the top. Snacks will be served at the end of the hike. Leader is Fred Myers. Visit www.kanawhatrailclub.org.
Alum Creek Fire Station will sponsor a photo shoot fundraiser from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at the fire station. A complimentary 10-inch-by-13-inch portrait will be given to those making a $15 donation. Proceeds will be used to update rescue and firefighting equipment.
