A Kanawha County Schools spokesman says that most of the bus routes will remain unchanged from last year, with the following exceptions in the Sissonville area:

Morning routes for Bus No. 101, with stops between Goldtown and Allens Fork, will remain basically the same. Evening routes for Bus 101 will remain the same, but the middle school stops will be about 10 minutes later than last year because of the bridge closure.

Bus No. 110 and Bus No. 107 have switched routes. Bus 107 will now pick up students along Cavender Lane, Edens Fork and Holmes Hollow. Bus 110 will now pick up students along Cicerone Route.

If I remember the old story. Kanawha acquired a small tip of Jackson County to build this bridge for Kanawha County residents that needed it. There might have been a low water ford there which was impassable at times. If you view a map of Jackson you can see a "squiggle" on the southwest corner that follows the course of the stream.

The bridge has been closed so no one is in danger. The bad thing is that people of live just across the bridge it takes an extra 10 mintutes to go around. It has been this way for months, but from what I understand they are not going to touch the bridge until 2010. Look at all the extra money I have to pay out because the state can not keep their roads maintained.

THE STATE IS PUTTING THE HARD WORKING FAMILYS OF THE MIDDLE FORK AND ALLENS FORK AREA IN DANGER BY NOT REPAIRING THE BRIDGE.
