FUTURE EVENTS

  •   Holzer Clinic of South Charleston will offer free neck and back classes for those suffering from low back, neck and extremity pain. Classes will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, alternating between back and neck schools each week. Class size is limited. For information, call 744-2300, ext. 0.
  • St. Albans American Legion Auxiliary No. 73 will meet for a salad supper at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Post Home. Members should bring food items for Christ Kitchen Food Pantry. For more information, call Janet Durbin at 722-5446.
  • The West Virginia Educational Broadcasting Authority will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at 600 Capitol St. The West Virginia Broadcasting Foundation will meet following the authority meeting.
  • Charleston Cut Flower Co. will host its 14th annual Good Neighbor Day beginning 830 a.m. on Wednesday at its location, 1900 Fifth Ave. at Iowa Street. The shop will be giving away 10,008 roses in bunches of a dozen at no charge to anyone who visits the shop while supplies last. Those picking up the roses will be asked to keep one rose and then give the others away to 11 different people, in the process of getting acquainted or renewing a friendship.
  • The American Lung Association of West Virginia will hold a Respiratory Rally from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 6 at the Charleston Civic Center for people suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and health-care professionals who provide their care. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Attendance for patients is free and a lunch will be provided. Oxygen refills will be available to those who bring a copy of their prescriptions. There also will be free health screenings and door prizes will be awarded throughout the day. The fee for providers is $25 and continuing education credit units will be provided for respiratory therapists, pharmacists and registered nurses.
