FUTURE EVENTS

  • Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority, Charleston City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the South Charleston Municipal Court Building, Fourth Avenue and D Street. The board will meet at 6:45 p.m. President Lynn Greter will conduct the business meeting.
  • Finance Committee of the Central West Virginia Regional Airport Authority will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday in the Public Use Conference Room, Yeager Airport. Financing of the meeting and greeting area and a review of airport financing will be among items discussed.
  • American Red Cross will have a blood drive from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Teays Valley Presbyterian Church, 4122 Teays Valley Road, Scott Depot. The Charleston Donor Center will be open for donations from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday at 4501 MacCorkle Ave. S.E., Kanawha City. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments will be honored. The Donor Center will be closed Friday and will reopen from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday.
  • Hometown Seniors will meet for a covered dish dinner at 11:30 a.m. Friday at 100 First Ave., Hometown. For information or transportation, call 586-2745.
  • Bible Center Church will host a concert by Point of Grace at 7:30 p.m. Friday and a conference for women only on Saturday at the church, 100 Bible Center Drive. International speaker and author Carol Kent will lead the conference. Cost is $15 per person for the concert, $25 for the conference or $35 for both.   • Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a hike on Glade Creek on New River at Prince beginning 9 a.m. Saturday. Carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. The hike is 8.4 miles. Regroup at New River National Park headquarters in Glen Jean. A shorter version to Kate's Falls and back, about 2 miles, also is offered. Bring a lunch to eat on the trail. Can stop at Tamarack for dinner. For information, call 342-8755.
  •    Hansford Center, 500 Washington St., St. Albans, offers a break for people caring for family members with any form of dementia, including Alzheimer's. For information and fees, call 722-4621.
