West Virginia Institute for Spirituality: will offer a Soup and Silence event from noon to 12:50 p.m. Friday at its location, 1601 Virginia St. E. An offering of $7 is requested. Call 345-0926 to register.
Women's Club of South Charleston: will sponsor a flea market beginning 9 a.m. Saturday at the clubhouse, located at 200 D Street, South Charleston. Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used for repairs and other needs. Vendor space is available. Contact Maureen Helvey at 744-7564.
Poca High School: will have a gospel sing and a spaghetti dinner at 5 p.m. Saturday in the school gymnasium. A donation of $6 is requested. Proceeds will benefit the Poca Dot Girl's Basketball Team. Featured singers will be Lexie Lanham, Harvest Trio, Martha Syner, Gospel Word and Roy Guthrie. For more information, call Brady Lanham at 776-5129.
Kanawha Trail Club: will sponsor a Kanawha State Forest Hike beginning at 1:30 p.m. Sunday along Polly Hollow, Beech Glen, Wildcat and Dunlap Hollow Trails. Carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. The hike is approximately 4 to 5 miles. Re-group at Polly Hollow parking area. The hike has moderate climb with a steep decent. A shorter version is available. For more information, call 342-8755.
The Board of Directors of the Kanawha County Public Library system: will meet at 4 p.m. Monday at the Main Library, 123 Capitol St. The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held in the John V. Ray Room on the third floor. Call 343-4646 for more information.
South Charleston Little League: will have its annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at the South Charleston Community Center, Room 3.
