American Red Cross will sponsor a blood drive for the Hurricane community from 2 to 7 p.m. at Forrest Burdette United Methodist Church, Fellowship Hall, 2848 Putnam Ave., Hurricane.

Charleston Town Center has extended the application deadline for the Kanawha County Fair Pageant to Wednesday. Pageant guidelines and applications are available at Guest Services and online at www.charlestontowncenter.com and www.kanawhacountyfair.org.
W.Va. Board of Education will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday in the Board Conference Room, Capitol Building 6, Room 353, 1900 Kanawha Blvd. E.
Healthy Connections Wellness Center's Diabetes Support Group will meet from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Church of the Nazarene, 4923 Kentucky St., South Charleston. Podiatrist Dr. Carrie A. Lakin will provide information including how to care for feet and avoid complications. Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month and are not just for diabetics. West Virginia Landlords Association will meet Thursday at the Little Creek Park Club House. Social hour is at 6 p.m. and the dinner/meeting is at 7 p.m. All landlords are welcome. Call 550-4214 for information.
Hometown Seniors will attend the Putnam County Senior Picnic from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Eleanor City Park. All Putnam centers will be closed.
Putnam County Schools will offer Developmental Screenings on Friday at Teays Valley Presbyterian Church, Teays Valley Road. Children ages 2 1/2 to 4 years of age will be screened for speech/language, hearing, vision, motor skills, social skills, self-help and cognition. Call 586-0500, ext. 154 to schedule an appointment.
Putnam County Parks and Recreation Commission will have a Movie Night Friday at Valley (Wave Pool) Park on Friday and a Movie Night Saturday at the Putnam County Park in Eleanor. Bring a lawn chair. Concessions will be available. Movies start at dark. For information, call 562-1518, ext. 3.
