Dawes United Methodist Church will celebrate its 125th anniversary beginning at 11 a.m. on Oct. 11. Games, prizes, food and gospel music will be featured. Starting at 1 p.m., Fully Immersed, a contemporary Christian group, will sing. The Lordsmen will sing at 4 p.m. In case of rain, festivities will be moved indoors. Bring a chair and/or blanket to sit outdoors if you wish. The church will have a worship service beginning 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 12. The Reverend Forrest Cummings will lead the service. A potluck dinner and a congregational gospel sing will follow. The church is located 5 1/2 miles up Cabin Creek Road and one mile south of the Sharon exit No. 79 of the West Virginia Turnpike, just 1/4 mile past Sharon-Dawes Elementary.
Eagle Central Missionary Baptist Church, Montgomery, will have its 122nd church anniversary and homecoming services beginning at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Sister churches are invited to participate. The Rev. Cornell Byers will be guest speaker along with the Spiritual Harmonizers in the afternoon services. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m.
Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1530 Third Ave., will celebrate its 100th anniversary at 11 a.m. Oct. 19 at the church. The Rev. Ronald English will speak. Music will be provided by the Martin Luther King Jr. Male Chorus. The Rev. David L. Southeast Church of the Nazarene will have its Centennial Service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the church, 5102 MacCorkle Ave., Kanawha City. Dress in heritage attire; prizes will be given. An old-time ice cream social/gathering will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Columbia Gas Shelter at Coonskin Park. There will be games from the Edwardian Era, homemade ice cream and a performance from Divine Trinity.

Food concessions will include brown beans and cornbread, cabbage, roast beef, sandwiches, hot dogs, baked goods, nachos and cheese and more.

Sebastian, dean of the Anderson University School of Theology, Anderson, Ind., will be the keynote and featured speaker for the clinic. In his keynote address at 6 p.m., Dr. Sebastian will speak on "The Pursuit of Preaching." He speaks on "The Purity of Preaching" at 9 a.m. on Oct. 11. He will speak again at 1:30 p.m. about "The Provision of Preaching." Dean Sebastian also will be the pulpit guest at 10:15 a.m. on Oct. 12 at the Teays Valley Church of God. Teaching the study groups will be Dr. James Wright, Pastor A. Wayne Burch, Dr. Calvin Roy Evans, Pastor Vondie Cook II, the Rev. Roy Hamilton and Pastor Mitch Burch. The church is located at 1600 Kanawha Blvd. E., one block west of the Capitol. Sale items include furniture, household items, children's and adult clothing, toys, books, small appliances and more. The Social Ministry Committee will use the proceeds to buy Christmas food baskets for those in need. The women of the ELCA will be selling homemade baked goods and bean soup packets to raise funds for their social outreach ministries.

The Seventh Annual Summersville Sings the Gospel 2008 Series Sing No. 5, will be held at 7 p.m. today in the Old Main Building auditorium, Old Main Drive, Summersville. The sing is presented by REACH By FAITH Ministries. Admission is free and a love offering will be received. Tri-County Singers will have its monthly sing at 7 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Dunbar Mountain Mission, 605 Dunbar Ave., located off Interstate 64, Dunbar Exit. The 2008 "Journey" songbook will be used. All singers are invited to participate in the shape-note, four-part mass choir singing.
First Baptist Church of Marmet will have its Fifth Annual Harvest Day Event today and Sunday. The Godsmen of Huntington and the Gordon Harmony Boys of Boone County will sing at 7 p.m. today. Revivals
Revival services will be held at 7 p.m. today at Mountain Heights Church in Spring Hill. Evangelist will be Claude Holley Jr. and music will be provided by the Mountain Heights Singers.
Revival services will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at West Virginia Home Mission Church, 1109 Benamati Ave., Nitro. Services will be held at 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Jerry Bonnett is the evangelist. Special singing will be featured each night.
Faith Missionary Baptist Church of St. Albans is having its fall revival meeting Sunday through Friday. Sunday services are 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday services are 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Fred Fudge, a native of Huntington. The Rev. Fudge has pastored churches in West Virginia, Ohio, Texas and Colorado and his current ministry is missionary work among Native Americans in Baptist churches. Special services
Dawes United Methodist Church will have a worship service beginning 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 12. The Reverend Forrest Cummings will lead the service. A potluck dinner and a congregational gospel sing will follow. The church is located 5 1/2 miles up Cabin Creek Road and one mile south of the Sharon Exit No. 79 of the West Virginia Turnpike, just 1/4 mile past Sharon-Dawes Elementary.
Minister Howard L. Watson will be preaching at the 6 p.m. service on Sunday at Word and Faith Baptist Church, Falling Rock. Pastor Calvin Ray will present the Rev. Watson, the former and founding pastor of the Word and Faith Baptist Church.
King of Glory International Ministries will sponsor the Deliverance Training and Deliverance Service Thursday through Oct. 11. Good Shepherd Free Will Baptist Church will have praise and worship services on Sunday. Pastor Jason C. Black will be preaching at the 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. services.
