CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- State Police are looking for a man who hijacked a car this morning near Dunbar.

John Dienges, 55, of South Point, Ohio, was at the Huntington Inn in Huntington at about 7 a.m. when a man approached him and asked him for a ride to Charleston, said Sgt. Kenneth McCord of the West Virginia State Police.

McCord said the man told Dienges he needed a ride because his girlfriend was about to give birth at a Charleston hospital. But when the two men got to Dunbar, the man pulled a gun and ordered Dienges out of the car.

Dienges complied, getting out at the end of Stover Road.

Police are looking for a tan 1990 Lexus ES250 sedan with Ohio license number EHQ 9793, McCord said. The car was last seen near Finney Hollow Road near Dunbar at about 8:30 a.m.

The alleged carjacker is described as a white male with short black hair and a beard. He is 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 210 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white button-up shirt with blue jeans and running shoes.

McCord said photos of the suspect were captured by security cameras at the hotel in Huntington and a bank he entered before going to the hotel.
