Tyler Mountain Fire Station will have a photo shoot fundraiser from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday and Oct. 19 at the station. A $15 donation is requested and a complimentary 10x13 portrait will be given. Proceeds will update firefighting equipment and buy fire protection clothing. Digital outdoor photos also will be taken. Walk-ins are welcome.

Southern Jackson County Communities Association will have a "Meet the Candidates" event at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Kenna Grange. All general election candidates, state and local, are invited. Take the Interstate 77 Kenna exit and turn left, then left again at the intersection of old U.S. 21. Go south on U.S. 21 for 1/4 mile. The building is on the right side near Kenna Elementary. Light refreshments will be served.
