Kanawha County 4-H members will sponsor a 4-H National Youth Science Day from noon to 4 p.m. today and Sunday at the Kanawha County Fair. FUTURE EVENTS
Tyler Mountain Fire Station will have a photo shoot fundraiser from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday and Oct. 19 at the station. A $15 donation is requested and a complimentary 10x13 portrait will be given. Proceeds will update firefighting equipment and buy fire protection clothing. Digital outdoor photos also will be taken. Walk-ins are welcome.
Kanawha Estates Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the home of Pam Pressler for the program "Butterflies of West Virginia." Contact Joann Haddad at 925-5232 for information.
Chi Master will have a Halloween meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Joyce Crede. Bring masks.
Southern Jackson County Communities Association will have a "Meet the Candidates" event at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Kenna Grange. All general election candidates, state and local, are invited. Take the Interstate 77 Kenna exit and turn left, then left again at the intersection of old U.S. 21. Go south on U.S. 21 for 1/4 mile. The building is on the right side near Kenna Elementary. Light refreshments will be served.

ACLU-WV Bill of Rights dinner will be held 5:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at Edgewood Country Club. Deputy Attorney General Paul Sheridan and ACLU-WV co-founder Jack McOwen will be honored.
