Huntington hotel (20th Century Images)

The Prichard is a Huntington landmark and quite a handsome building. It is a monument to the era when Huntington was booming and well on its way to being another Cincinnati.
Unfortunately, much of the 20th-century American industry has closed and prosperity is now only a memory.
This postcard â€" incidentally made with a special camera lens that did not distort the image â€" was, according to the automobiles, taken circa 1930. Note the streetcar tracks.
Good news was made recently that a bus company is going to begin a round trip between Charleston and Huntington for a modest fare. A metro commuter train linking Charleston, Teays Valley and Huntington would also be a swell idea.
