A Buffalo High School student who lost an eye while at golf practice has sued the Putnam County Board of Education.
Eric Nathan Crist, 17, filed the lawsuit Oct. 9.
In August 2007, while at an organized practice at a golf course in Frazier's Bottom, a ball hit by another member of the team struck Crist in the orbit of his left eye, the complaint states.
Crist lost his eye as a direct result of the injury.
The suit alleges the team's coaches did not properly instruct, coach and supervise both Crist and other members of the team in the rules of golf and fundamental safety instructions relative to participation in the game.
The suit asks the county school system to pay for the Crist's medical expenses, totaling $48,185, and for his physical and mental pain and suffering from the embarrassment of disfigurement.
The suit also asks for $200,000 for all future medical expenses as a result of his injury, and $467,440 for the reduction of his lifetime capacity to work.
The lawsuit has been assigned to Putnam County Circuit Court Judge Edward Eagloski.

I'm sorry he got hurt, but with all activities comes some risk.
Look into it.
Why not sue the kid that hit the ball as well?
