FUTURE EVENTS:

South Charleston Convention & Visitors Bureau is working on its Christmas Parade, which will be held at noon Dec. 6. Director Bob Anderson said any group or individual that would like to participate should call Cindy at 746-5552.

Goodwill Industries of Kanawha Valley will kick off its annual holiday sale at 9 a.m. Friday at all nine of its retail locations: Charleston, Elkview, Kanawha City, Beckley, Madison, Summersville, Vienna, Teays Valley and Ripley. Tree trimmings, lighting, dinnerware and other holiday items are available.

Herbert Hoover softball team will sponsor Longaberger basket bingo at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Clendenin Recreation Center. Doors will open at 5 p.m. Refreshments will be available along with Longaberger door prizes.

Housing Authority of South Charleston Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday in the administrative office building conference room at 520 Goshorn St., South Charleston.

The American Red Cross will sponsor a blood drive from 2 to 7 p.m. Nov. 28 at Dunbar United Methodist Church, 1401 Myers Ave., Dunbar. A blood drive is also scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 28 at the St. Albans Library, 602 Fourth St., St. Albans.

Kanawha Trail Club will meet for a hike at 9 a.m. Saturday for a hike in Cabwaylingo State Forest. Carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. The hike, which is about 7 miles, has two steep uphills and two steep downhills. A hike is also scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Putnam County Parks in Eleanor. Carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. The 4-to-5-mile hike is moderate with short climbs. Re-group at the swimming pool. A shorter version (1-to-2-mile hike) is available on the same trail. Stop at the Dairy Queen afterwards. For information on either hike, call 343-3779.
