CULLODEN, W.Va. -- An Ohio-based packaging manufacturer plans to close its Culloden plant and lay off 41 people early next year.
Greif Inc. spokeswoman Deb Strohmaier said Tuesday the plant will close and the employees will be out of work by the end of January. Strohmaier says the company is closing a plant in Kansas City, Kansas, as well.
The Culloden operation produces industrial packaging. Greif makes shipping containers at the Kansas City plant.
Strohmaier says the company's plant in Guyandotte likely will remain open. It produces corrugated box containers.
Based in Delaware, Ohio, Greif has operations in approximately 45 countries.
