CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Trans Siberian Orchestra rocked the Charleston Civic Center Friday night with its non-traditional Christmas celebration concert.

The show successfully blends classic Christmas tunes with heavy metal and rock. One might be skeptical that the classical music form could be translated through an electric guitar, but it can.

Fans responded enthusiastically to the electric violin and guitars that allowed for them to head-bang during Christmas music.

Themes of hope and spirit resonated throughout the show with an enchanting narrator leading the musical journey.

Beyond the music, the concert features one of the most fantastic light shows to be found. With smoke, flames and lasers, it is a near psychedelic experience.

A portion of the proceeds from the performance is going to the Mountain Mission food drive.

Thank you, Nikki, for your successful, charming, and dazzling post-concert advertisement instead of an actual review. I am so relieved that we no longer have to watch the TV ads (which seemed to take their cue from monster truck events) for this out-of-town schlock.
