CHESTER, W.Va. -- The grandfather of a 4-month-old boy found dead in a filthy Chester home has been charged with child neglect resulting in death.
Kenneth Burchett, who was indicted by a Hancock County grand jury this week, owned the home where Brandon Burchett died of malnutrition and dehydration.
The baby's parents, Kristopher Burchett and Amanda Goodman, have already been charged with the same offense.
Hancock County Prosecuting Attorney James Davis called the crime inexcusable. Investigators said the home was filled with trash, and the baby's diaper hadn't been changed in days.
The child's body was found Feb. 1. Two toddlers found in the home were put in the care of other relatives.
