KANAWHA TRAIL CLUB HIKE: 12:30 p.m., Paint Creek Branch. Carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. The hike is about 6 miles up a significant hill and along a ridge, ending with a nice view of Interstate 77.

MILITARY MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2 p.m., Confederate Cemetery, Spring Hill Cemetery. Sponsored by the Sons of Confederate Veterans -- Gen. Robert S. Garnett Camp No. 1470. Descendants of soldiers are invited to decorate graves before or after the ceremony.
