Missing ginseng hunter found in Md.

GRANTSVILLE, Md. -- Maryland Natural Resources Police say they have found a West Virginia man who was separated from companions while hunting ginseng.

Police say James Lewis Alt, 72, of Piedmont didn't meet back up with his companions in Savage River State Forest as planned on Saturday afternoon.

Alt was found about 8:30 p.m. Sunday about a mile from where he was last seen and more than one mile from the nearest road. Police say he was suffering from back pain and dehydration and was wheeled from the location on a stretcher.

Police say 65 people searched 6,000 acres of steep terrain and heavy forest on foot and horseback.
