The picnic is sponsored by the Allegheny Highlands Council 8689 Knights of Columbus. Hamburgers, hot dogs, all the trimmings, paper products and utensils will be furnished. The picnic concludes around 4 p.m.

The program start date will be 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 22. The Adventurer Club is designed to teach a child how to develop a relationship with Christ, discover the world God created, and implement biblical structure at an early age. The 14th annual West Virginia School of Gospel Music will be held July 26-30 at Fisher Memorial Church, located 1/2 mile on Dudden Road off the Goldtown exit of Interstate 77, 18 miles north of Charleston. Day/night sessions are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The cost is $35, including lunch, songbook and supplies. The cost is $10 for the night session only, including songbook and supplies. A student recital will be held at 2 p.m. July 30, and the closing program will be 6:30 p.m. July 30. Curriculum includes theory, sight-reading, ear training, group voice, conducting and syllable (shape-note Do-Re-Mi) training and singing. Private lessons are also available.
