CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Six people were arrested Wednesday for allegedly operating a meth lab in a Cross Lanes home.

State Police found a meth lab in the home of Earl Myers, 30, at 5290 Kensington Lane. Erin Renee Bays, 27, Brian Joesph Wilson, 32, Barbara Leigh Akers, 33, Brittany Danielle Asbury, 23, and Deseray Dawn Pauley, 20, were arrested and charged with operating a meth lab along with Myers.

State Police Trooper K.E. Young went to the Cross Lanes home to locate a wanted man who was said to have been there earlier that day, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha Magistrate Court.

When the front door was opened, Young smelled a strong odor consistent with the manufacturing of meth. He requested that everyone stand outside while he obtained a search warrant.

Police then searched the house and verified meth-making materials throughout the home to constitute a meth lab, the complaint states.

All 6 people were arrested and arraigned in Kanawha Magistrate Court.
