  • First Lady Renea Crozier and Women With Abundant Life, 1534 Washington St. E., will host an afternoon of encouragement and enlightenment with guest speaker, West Virginia Delegate Meshea Poore, to discuss "Becoming the Woman God Created You to Be" at 1 p.m. today at the church. Special music will be provided by Suzanne Sigmon. This event is free and open to females of all ages.
  • Women With Abundant Life, 1534 Washington St. E., will host "My Sisters Closet," which is a boutique selling clothes, handbags, jewelry and other accessories at extremely low prices. My Sisters Closet will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today. Call the church at 304-342-0058 for more information.
  • Liberty Missionary Baptist Church will sponsor a hot dog and bake sale, plus a yard sale on Aug. 7 in the church parking lot, 1343 Lewis St.
  • Berea Seventh-day Adventist Church will sponsor an Adventurer Club Children's Ministry this fall. The program begins from 1 to 3 p.m. on Aug. 22. Club registration will be ongoing throughout the program term. The Adventures Club is designed to teach a child how to develop a relationship with Christ, discover the world God created, and implement biblical structure at an early age. The age group is for four- to nine-years-old. The Club will meet on Sunday afternoons at the church, located at 216 Highland Ave., South Charleston.   • Berea Seventh-day Adventist Church will have a church yard sale from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at 216 Highland Ave., South Charleston. Proceeds are going toward the Adventures Club children's ministry.
  • The St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Montgomery will hold its Phillip C. Terrell Scholarship program at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Speaker will be Pastor Robert Morton, pastor of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Carbondale. Dinner will be served at 1:30 p.m.
  • Derrick's Creek Church, 13790 Derricks Creek Road, Sissonville, will have a rummage sale, auction and concession stand beginning 9 a.m. Aug. 7 on the church grounds. The auction begins at 3 p.m.
