Charleston street closures: Aug. 31-Sept. 5
Tuesday:
Kanawha Boulevard: Closed from 9 a.m. through Sunday afternoon from Capitol Street to Clendenin Street, for the annual gathering of the Harley Owners Group (HOG) Rally, which runs Wednesday through Saturday. The Boulevard will reopen Sunday evening following a free evening concert of the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra at Haddad Riverfront Park, which starts at 8 p.m.
Saturday closures:
Kanawha Boulevard at Magic Island, from Pennsylvania Avenue to Ohio Avenue: closed all day in conjunction with West Virginia Games events at Magic Island.
Distance Run: Several streets will be closed throughout the city for the race that begins at 7:30 a.m.
Funeral Parade: held Saturday afternoon on Capitol Street. Westbound traffic on the Boulevard will be diverted at Brooks Street to detour through downtown and several east-west cross streets will be closed through downtown during the parade.
