CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Mason County man who mailed threatening letters to potential jurors in his incest case was sentenced in federal court Wednesday to three years in prison, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced.
While his case was pending, Daniel Lee Hall, 34, of Point Pleasant, sent threatening letters to potential jurors, some of whom refused to serve, a news release states.
Hall eventually pleaded guilty to the incest charge and was sentenced to five to 15 years in the state penitentiary.
U.S. District Court Judge John T. Copenhaver Jr. sentenced Hall to three years on the federal charge, and ordered Hall to serve it after his state sentence is discharged.
In a separate case, a Beckley man was sentenced to almost 13 years in prison for distributing cocaine.
Norvel Woodson, 52, pleaded guilty to the charge in March, admitting that he sold powder cocaine to a confidential informant, according to the release.
U.S. District Court Judge Irene C. Berger sentenced Woodson, who had previous drug convictions, to 151 months in prison.
