WVU-Parkersburg gets federal money for childcare

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. -- The federal government is helping West Virginia University at Parkersburg make it easier for people with young children to pursue a college degree.

The university has received a $47,981 grant from the U.S. Department of Education to provide campus-based childcare services. U.S. Senators Jay Rockefeller and Carte Goodwin announced the funding today.

The senators say campus-based childcare services give people with young children access to higher education.
