CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Charleston Gold Dome Lions Club and the state branch of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will sponsor a poker run on Oct. 9 to help raise initial money for next year's 12th annual Kiss A Pig for Diabetes fundraising event.
Registration is from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Oct. 9 at the St. Albans Roadside Park on U.S. 60, where concessions will be available all day. Entry fee is $10 for single riders, $15 for double riders. The event will conclude by 6 p.m., following door prizes and a special 50-50 drawing.
All proceeds will seed the 2011 Kiss A Pig event. The event honors the pig for its lifesaving role as the first source of insulin in 1921, while raising money to support the programs of the Lions Club and the JDRF.
