Sissonville Public Service District Board will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday in the district office, 6438 Sissonville Drive, Sissonville.

Unity of Kanawha Valley will be home to the monthly Open Stage and Coffee House with host Ron Sowell on Friday at its location, 804 Myrtle Road, at Bridge and Myrtle roads. Musicians are welcome to come and share their talents. Performers sign up at 7 p.m. and the music begins at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $5. Admission for performers, seniors and children is $2. Various coffees, teas, soft drinks and homemade treats are available at a small cost.

Hansford Center will sponsor a dance to the sounds of Ernie Noel and the Creekers on Saturday at its location, 500 Washington St., St. Albans. Admission is by donation. Door prizes and a 50/50 drawing will be held. A hot dog sale starts at 5 p.m. and the music starts at 6 p.m. For information, call 304-722-4621.

4-H Leaders Association will sponsor a buckwheat pancake breakfast on Saturday in the lodge at Camp Virgil Tate during the Kanawha County Fair. The Farm Bureau, in conjunction with West Virginia University Extension and the Kanawha County Fair, will offer a tour of a farm. Proceeds will benefit the 4-H Association's work in positive youth development for Kanawha County.

West Virginia Division of Culture and History will present its free "Second Saturday" of museum activities for children from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Culture Center. Children under the age of 13 should be accompanied by an adult. A scavenger hunt, "make 'n take" craft activities, book reading, mini tour and a portrayal of Mary Draper Ingles by Karen Vuranch will be featured. For more information, call 304-558-0220, ext. 111.
