CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Jackson County authorities have identified two people killed in an accident on Interstate 77 on Sunday.
Renea Parsons, 27, of Ravenswood, was heading north on Interstate 77 just south of the Fairplain exit at around 2 p.m. when she lost control of her 1999 Volkswagen Jetta, crossed the median and pulled into the southbound lanes, according to Jackson County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Bruce Dewees.
Parsons was hit on the passenger side door by a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Amy Vandorp, 43, of North Carolina, Dewees said.
Parsons and her three-month old son were killed in the crash. A 2-year-old son was taken to CAMC General Hospital, where Dewees said he was in intensive care this morning.The investigation continues.
